Tennessee Chapter 9
Of
International Harvester Collectors Inc.
The Tennessee Chapter 9 of International Harvester Collectors Club was formed in 1993. The Chapter’s goals mirror those of the National Club which is to preserve the history, products, literature and memorabilia of the International Harvester Company.
The Chapter achieves these goals by:
Holding 4 director meetings per year, with all members welcome. Input from all members is vital to the success of the Club. Members are kept informed of Chapter activities with the publication of our quarterly newsletter, The Binder.
Hosting an annual “Volunteer IH” Show similar to the National Club’s Red Power Round Up but on a state-wide basis. The Volunteer IH show is held in conjunction with other tractor/engine Club’s show and the location is moved around the state.
An annual membership meeting is held at the Volunteer IH show. Three directors are elected each year to replace three whose terms expire. Nine directors are responsible for the operation of the Club. A President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer are elected annually from the director positions by the directors.
During the 4th quarter, the Chapter hosts a Winter Banquet for all members and guests. This banquet is held in conjunction with the 4th quarter directors meeting. Officers for the upcoming year are elected at this meeting.
Our dues are $10 per year and are due on September 1 each year. New members joining on March 1 or after do not have dues payable until September of the following year. Membership in the National Club is prerequisite to be a member of Tennessee Chapter 9, making total dues $25 per year ($15 for National, $10 for Tennessee Chapter 9).
Some major accomplishments of our Chapter are; hosted Red Power Round Up in 1996 and co-hosted another in 2005, hosted 2 National Auctions, have made several monetary donations to the IH Archives to help promote International Harvester.
In addition to the benefits listed above; members receive a quarterly publication Harvester Highlights which provides information on club business; reports from various committees; upcoming show listings; news from the chapters; feature stories; restoration information and limited free publication of wanted and for sale ads.
If you are not already a National Club member, we will automatically enroll you when you join our Chapter. For more information, contact our Membership Secretary:
